This week's Wolverhampton Chronicle has a letter from former Conservative Councillor Neville Patten. In his letter Mr. Patten admits that the Conservatives cannot win in Park ward. Mr. Patten states that the ward is such that it is "impossible for any conservative candidate to win".

The Liberal Democrats on the other hand are their most active for years. Robin Lawrence the Liberal Democrat candidate and his team have been knocking on doors in Park ward talking to local residents and asking about issues that concern them. People have been telling Robin that they now see the Liberal Democrats as the only opposition to Labour and many former Conservatives will be supporting Robin in next May's election.

Robin has been instrumental in making a difference in Park ward, be it getting graffiti removed, paving repaired, ensuring road lines are repainted or even drain covers being repaired.

In Park ward, as in many other wards in Wolverhampton, like St. Peters, Heath Town and Springvale to name just three, it will be a straight fight between the Liberal Democrats and Labour.
