Massive increase in housing waiting lists uncovered by the Liberal Democrats

4.45.48pm GMT Mon 14th Nov 2005

The Liberal Democrats have uncovered figures that show the housing waiting lists in the West Midlands have increased by massively since Labour came to power, there are 137,992 families on waiting lists an increase from the 92,103 families in 1997.

In Wolverhampton the increase has been 42% to 6,603 from 4,600. Colin Ross said "It is a disgrace that under a Labour Government and a Labour Council this increase has been allowed to happen. Labour is supposed to be committed to social justice, these figures clearly disprove that!"
