Mr Billington and Ms Brown show Robin Lawrence some of the broken glass

Park Focus Team members were shocked by the build up of litter in Walpole Street. Invited to visit the area by resident Adam Billington Robin Lawrence, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Park Ward was appalled by the state of the street. Mr Billington told Robin that Walpole Street has a good community feel although, as a father of a young child, he worries about the dangers of broken glass and litter on his family.

Another resident, Charlotte Brown, told Focus, "Walpole Street is just like a wind tunnel causing litter to clog up people's storm porches."

Mr Billington and Ms Brown have asked Robin Lawrence and The Focus Team to put pressure on the council to clean up Walpole Street as an immediate priority and to institute a programme of regular street cleaning to prevent any more problems. Robin has agreed to act on behalf of all the Walpole Street residents to help clean up this pleasant residential area. He said, "I am appalled that the three current Labour councillors have done nothing to set about cleaning up potentially dangerous rubbish." He went on to call for Park Ward residents to vote Liberal Democrat in May's council elections so that lazy and ineffective Labour councillors can be replaced by diligent and hard-working Liberal Democrats.
