Robin Lawrence (left) calls on Park residents
|
This week Park Ward campaigners have hand delivered 2,500 letters to voters who have contacted Robin Lawrence. Writing personally to each voter Robin told them that " Over the last eighteen months my team and I have knocked on almost 80% of the ward talking to local residents about their concerns. Many people have also been telling me how they are likely to vote; it is looking very close between the Labour candidate and me.
There are a number of issues I am campaigning on from better local services, abolition of the Council Tax, improving our environment to campaigning against tuition fees. I have already managed to get the Council to carry out some road improvements, improve paving and remove graffiti and rubbish - all of which I have reported back through FOCUS.
I feel let down by Labour, particularly in Park ward - we rarely hear from our local Councillors - since they were elected in 2004 I think I have had just two leaflets from them in two years.
Robin Lawrence and the Park Liberal Democrats communicate with voters every month.
