Park Ward Liberal Democrats are running a summer recruitment campaign following on from the local elections. Robin Lawrence, who came so close to winning in May said "During the local elections we found lots of support for the Liberal Democrats, my team and I are now knocking on doors offering people the opportunity to join."

"Most Liberal Democrat supporters will join the party if asked, it wasn't until someone actually asked me to join that I did" continued Robin.

The national party is taking Park Ward's recruitment campaign seriously with Dave Hodgson - the Party's Membership Recruitment Officer visiting earlier this week and joined in the door-knocking. Dave said "I was delighted to come to Wolverhampton and help Robin and his team, after knocking on doors it was obvious there is lots of support for the Liberal Democrats in Park Ward."

Colin Ross, the 2005 General Election Liberal Democrat candidate for Wolverhampton South West also joined the recruitment drive saying "A number of people joined this week and we will continue knocking on doors throughout the summer. Even those that are not joining are confirming their support for Robin for next May."
