Robin Lawrence writes to new voters in Park Ward

Park candidate Robin Lawrence

Park Ward's Lib Dem candidate, Robin Lawrence, has written to all voters appearing on the Park electoral register for the first time. The letter said:

"I am writing to you because your name has just been added to the Park Ward Electoral Register from 1st January 2007. If you have just moved into the area may I take this opportunity to welcome you to your new home on behalf of the local Liberal Democrat Focus Team.

If you have only moved locally within the area, you will already know of the regular FOCUS Community Newsletters produced by the Liberal Democrats. They keep you informed about local affairs and give you the chance to have your say about what needs to be done in our community.

As is the case in much of Wolverhampton, Park Ward's local councillors tend to be invisible except at election times where as the Liberal Democrats actively campaign for improvements in the area and regularly communicate with all residents both with the Focus leaflets and also letters. If you have access to the internet you see much more of our activities both local and national on our web site at www.wolverhamptonlibdems.org.uk.

In last May's local council elections the Lib Dems increased our share of the vote by 12%, coming so close to defeating the sitting Labour councillor that there are just 128 votes between me and the Labour Party. It really is a two horse race in Park Ward."
