Zahid Shah slams Wolverhampton Homes for neglect7.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 26th Jun 2007
A resident of a block of flats in Glentworth Gardens has called on Zahid Shah for help saying that Wolverhampton Homes are failing to maintain the property properly. Zahid was shocked by what he saw. There was broken glass surrounding the main entrance and rotting rubbish at back. When the resident said she often saw rats attracted by the rubbish Zahid soon found places for them to hide including an uncovered drain in the wast bin store. He then spotted a section of a flat roof was rotten and collapsing and that the outside clothes drying was overgrown with weeds and unusable.
Zahid Shah said "Residents pay a substantial rent to live in these flats and are not getting a proper service from Wolverhampton Homes. I shall be taking urgent action to get this property cleaned up and put into good order."
