Sir Ming writes12.38.02pm UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 13th Sep 2007 Sir Ming has written to Party members and supporters calling for our troops to be brought home. The letter is below, he also urges people to sign up to his petition (also below) It is time to recognise that British troops can do no more in Iraq. Their professionalism and dedication has been outstanding and their courage has been beyond belief. The Government is failing to answer the fundamental question about the military purpose they are serving and the political objective they are achieving by their continued presence. The level of casualties is unacceptable. We have a moral obligation to the young men and women of our armed forces. We should now set a framework for their withdrawal from Iraq. You can back our call by signing the petition at http://www.ourcampaign.org.uk/iraq and you can watch me talk in more detail about this issue at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=grTMMJA6t8s Yours sincerely, Menzies Campbell
