Zahid Shah launches massive Crime Survey in St. Peter's Ward2.09.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sat 3rd Nov 2007
Liberal Democrat candidate in St. Peter's Ward, Zahid Shah, has begun a Ward wide survey of residents' views on crime and policing in the area. As Zahid Shah and the Liberal Democrat Focus Team have gone round the Ward many residents have told them how worried they are about crime in their immediate area and across Wolverhampton. Zahid said, " I am asking residents to take part in this special crime survey. The results of the survey will assist us to work with the police, Council and residents to help the fight against crime." One of the most common difficulties is that residents say a particular type of crime is a real problem for them but it is not shown in the police's official statistics. The Liberal Democrats believe this is because many crimes, especially relatively minor ones, often go unreported. Certainly, many people have said that they are not sure how to report a crime when a 999 call isn't really appropriate. So the answers will be particularly helpful in cracking this problem. You can down load a PDF version of this survey from the St Peter's section of the Download area of this site.
