Zahid Shah gets Francis Street cleaned up7.05.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 5th Nov 2007
Alerted to problems in Francis Street, Liberal Democrat Environmental Campaigner Zahid Shah wasted no time in getting the area cleaned up. Concerned by the many bags of builders' materials, dumped car parts and litter Zahid insisted on the street being cleaned and swept.
Zahid told Focus "I was appalled by the state of Francis Street. The three Labour Councillors in St Peter's have clearly ignored this area. They seem to be happy to let residents live in a dirty, litter strewn Ward. The only people that residents of St Peter's can rely on to get their ward cleaned is the Liberal Democrat Focus Team." Zahid went on to say "The best way to get St Peter's cleaned up is to contact the Liberal Democrats. Labour councillors are clearly not interested."
