Darren Friel inspects school parking chaos

In East Park Ward there is complete chaos at home time for some schools. Local Liberal Democrat campaigner Dareen Friel says residents, parents, shop keepers and road users are now at the end of their tether. Ideally children should be encouraged to walk to school but they must be safe when doing so which is unlikely in this day and age. At the moment parents are having to break the law attempting to park in inadequate parking spaces, and residents are furious when their drives are blocked. Other road users are sick and tired of being held up unnecessarily.

Darren wants local people to have a greater input into the plans for parking time limits, improved bays and other measures. This currently decided centrally without regard for local views.
