Claire Darke sorts out footpath problems

Residents and members of the Crawford Road Neighbourhood Watch asked the Liberal Democrats for help in improving pavements in the area. Claire Darke and Councillor Robin Lawrence immediately contacted the Council to insist that the problem pavements were attended to quickly. Both Claire and Robin are now delighted to report that Wolverhampton Council's Highway Works Division has agreed to a programme of pavement resurfacing in Crawford Road and Merridale Crescent to begin during April 2008.

Claire Darke told Focus "This is a victory for local residents who are keen to maintain the quality of their environment." Councillor Robin Lawrence went on to say "These pavement improvements go to show the importance of electing hard-working Liberal Democrat Councillors. Residents of Crawford Road and Merridale Crescent may have recently received glossy and colourful empty promises from the Labour Party but it is only the Liberal Democrats who work with residents to make sure that local problems are resolved swiftly and successfully."
