Vince Cable opens by-election campaign HQ in Crewe and Nantwich

Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader and Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable officially opened the party's campaign headquarters in Crewe today, with campaigning for the Crewe and Nantwich by-election now fully underway. Dr Cable appeared alongside the Liberal Democrat candidate Elizabeth Shenton for a series of media interviews. Ms Shenton, selected by a ballot of party members in the constituency, has pledged to build on her successful record as a local councillor and work to cut crime, improve schools and protect the environment if elected for Crewe and Nantwich on May 22nd.
