Zahid Shah campaigning to save the Wadens

Zahid Shah, Lib Dem candidate in the May elections, has written to voters in St Peter's Ward about the Neighbourhood Warden Scheme. The text of the letter is:

I am sure you will welcome the news that the Liberal Democrats have saved the Neighbourhood Wardens.

As you will know the Labour Council led by Roger Lawrence had failed to save the Wardens before being voted out at the local elections on 1st May. I made saving the Wardens a key plank of my election campaign and the Liberal Democrats made that a condition of their support for either party now that Wolverhampton is under No-Overall-Control.

Not only will the Neighbourhood Wardens be retained but they will actually be enhanced. This will lead to safer and cleaner streets for all of us.

Of course, this victory is not just mine but the victory of so many of us. This really shows everyone who signed the petition organised by Shirley Oates, demonstrated or voted against Labour really did make a change.

I am determined to continuing working hard for all the resident's of St. Peter's Ward and hope that you will continue to support me.

Yours truly,

Zahid Shah
