Cllr Lawrence checks the plans for new drains in Gibbons Grove

Following a long campaign by Park Ward's Liberal Democrat Councillors Robin Lawrence and Claire Darke, Wolverhampton Council's Highway Division has agreed to undertake drain repairs to Gibbons Grove.

Residents of Gibbons Grove have been blighted by a large pool of water in the turning circle area which can take several days to drain away after heavy rain. Thanks to action by the Liberal Democrats repairs to this drain will now be undertaken in this financial year.

Councillor Robin Lawrence said "This is victory for local community action. Residents have long suffered from this flooding nuisance and after seeking the help of the Liberal Democrats the problem is in the process of being solved for good."

Councillor Claire Darke added "Residents of Gibbons Grove and other areas of Park Ward are, once again, realising that if there is a problem that needs solving the only local party to contact is the Liberal Democrats."
