Jonathan Webber to contest Park Ward

Jonathan Webber has won the Liberal Democrat selection to stand in Park Ward for the Liberal Democrats at the next set of local elections in May 2010.

Jonathan topped a poll of members to become the next Park Ward candidate, beating off tough competition from two others.

Jonathan said "I am delighted to have been selected and will work closely with Councillors Robin Lawrence and Claire Darke and continue their good work for local residents."

Jonathan is Director of International Trade at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and specialises in small businesses and has particular experience in working with businesses from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

Councillor Claire Darke said "Jonathan will use his vast of experience of working with small businesses to identify problems that our own local businesses may be suffering and help them overcome these problems."

Councillor Robin Lawrence added "Jonathan will be a great asset to the Liberal Democrat Park Ward team working alongside Claire and myself to help build a better Wolverhampton."
