More and more St Peter's residents are turning to Zahid Shah, Robin Lawrence and the Liberal Democrats after being let down by their Labour Councillors. Zahid Shah said "Over the last few weeks the Liberal Democrat FOCUS Team have seen an increase in the number of local residents contacting us with concerns and issues that it would appear the Labour Councillors are ignoring."

A resident of Hordern Road said "I contacted a local Labour councillor early in 2008 and still nothing has been done."

Complaints range from dog fouling around the Farndale Estate, Whitmore Reans, Gorsebrook Road and on Gatis Street to anti-social behaviour, drink and drug usage at the Avion Centre and other locations including the old Farndale school.

The old Victoria Pub has become a dumping ground. Zahid Shah and Robin Lawrence found old mattresses and a large amount of household waste. They even found addressed documents which might be a lead for the prosecuting authorities. Behind the Gatis Street adventure play centre they found that the wooded land leading to Flaxton walk is choked with rubbish. Zahid Shah has called for a major clear up and more litter bins in the area.
