Councillor Robin Lawrence has called for more involvement in the decision-making process, he said "Local people need to have their voice heard, be that here in Wolverhampton or at Westminster - at the moment too many people are having their views ignored.

Robin went on to say "In Wolverhampton the Council claims to consult and involve people but rarely do those outside the political process even know how they can get involved, I want to change that. It is even worse in Westminster - when was the last time you heard from your MP? - do you even know who your MP is?"

Robin added "The Liberal Democrats want to change the way Wolverhampton is run, we want real consultation with real people not just those that happen to know when meetings are taking place, the Council needs to be opened up, people need to be able to hold the cabinet members to account and be able to question them, Council meetings should be webcast and we need to open up the budget process so everyone in Wolverhampton can feed in and say what the Council's priorities should be."

The Liberal Democrats are committed to changing the way politics is run locally and nationally - if you want to change join Robin's campaign by emailing him at robin@wolverhamptonlibdems.org.uk, by phoning or texting him on 07989 488105 or joining him on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=112582510157
