"What's the best use of this space?" Robin Lawrence asks Zahid Shah. "Residents' views should be heard"

Wolverhampton Council's Property Services Division has contacted local Liberal Democrat Councillors about the future of the green space on Kenton Avenue and the land next to 20 Hordern Road. In a letter to Councillor Robin Lawrence and Councillor Claire Darke, Property Service state that the two areas are being investigated to see whether they can be put to alternative uses as they not considered to be of "open space value."

Councillor Robin Lawrence said, "I am concerned that there does not appear to be a plan to consult residents in the area about what should be done with the land. I fought a campaign to help keep the open space on Coleman and Gibbs Street free from buildings. This part of Whitmore Reans currently benefits from having these two open areas."

Park Ward Environmental Campaigner, Jonathan Webber, added "Liberal Democrats believe that residents' voices should always be heard when decisions that affect their area are being taken. I am therefore asking for residents what should be done with the green space on Kenton Road and next to 20 Hordern Road."
