Johnathan Webber and Cllr Robin Lawrence check plans for the new camera position

Park Ward Liberal Democrats have welcomed plans for road safety improvements on the busy Tettenhall Road going out of the city. Due to traffic speeding away from the traffic lights in Chapel Ash towards Clark Road several road safety problems have been occurring in the area around Haden Hill, Larches Lane and Clark Road. To help reduce traffic speeds and the risk of more accidents, plans have been announced for installing a traffic safety camera near Haden Hill.

Liberal Democrat campaigner Jonathan Webber said, "It is well known that the biggest single contributor to road traffic accidents is excessive speed. I welcome all initiatives that will help reduce traffic speeds and make roads safer."

Residents living close to the proposed new camera will be given the opportunity to comment on the plans before installation takes place. Councillor Robin Lawrence encouraged residents to contact the Liberal Democrats with their opinions about the scheme. He said "As a road user, cyclist and pedestrian I welcome measures to make Tettenhall Road safer. However it is very important that residents living close to the scheme give their opinions about it either to the Liberal Democrats or directly to the Transport and Regeneration Division of Wolverhampton Council."
