Labour Council wastes £19,000 on new logo for City

Wolverhampton's Liberal Democrats used the Freedom of Information A Wolverhampton's Logoct to reveal that the City's Labour run Council used £19,000 of taxpayers' money to pay consultants for a new logo for the City which amounts to little more than four over lapping Ws. Much of the cash was spent on tickets to Wolves matches and taxi rides round the City.

They have recently spent £23,000 installing 25 new "Welcome to Wolverhampton" signs which don't feature this new logo.

Wolverhampton Lib Dem campaigner Rob Quarmby, said: "It's disgusting for the council to waste money on branding at a time when it's cutting vital services for vulnerable people. I cannot believe the council has forked out to allow some 'consultants' to go to the football and be chauffeured around the city in taxis. The council spent thousands of pounds for new signs around the City yet don't even use this brand. It's scandalous."
