Teresa May should resign say Tory members

Almost one in four Tory members want May to resign now. And over two-thirds want her gone before the next election.

The Tory Party asked its members if Teresa May should resign.

24% said "YES, NOW" (compared to 13% a month ago)

45% said "YES, BEFORE 2022 (50% a month ago)

28% said "NO (34% a month ago)

The Tories ask their members this question regularly and this is its third highest rating on record. The only credible explanation is that May's policy of delay over the Brexit negotiation is damaging her position and further procrastination is likely to do so even further. Some members think that the longer she hangs on the more damage that she does. The EU understands the political situation here and that she will sign away anything to get fake "progress" in negotiations. Others think it is unwise to change leader in the midst of the EU withdrawal negotiation but they have lost confidence in her ability to deliver on her promises.
