Wolverhampton members help at the Brecon and Radnor bye-election

On 1st August there will be a bye-election in the Welsh constituency of Brecon and Radnor.

We held this Parliamentary seat until 2015 and we still hold the Welsh Assembly seat - so we have a strong core vote in the area.

The Tory MP was sacked by voters after pleading guilty to two charges of making false claims under the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009. Astonishingly, the Tories have chosen him again to be their candidate.

The Lib Dem candidate, Jane Dodds, is the leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats. A group of Wolverhampton members spent a day in the vast rural constituency. They delivered leaflets, stuffed envelopes and in the evening knocked on doors in Radnor in a team led by Jane herself.

The Green party and Plaid Cymru said they had decided to not stand candidates in the Welsh seat on 1 August in the hope of maximising the vote for Jane Dodds. Our chances of winning are very high and this would reduce the Tory Westminster majority to wafer thin.
