Woodcross crash: Invest in community speed watch say Lib Dems

By Nick Machnik-Foster

Wolverhampton Liberal Democrats have called for investment in community speed watch schemes after a car veered off the road and hit a wall in Woodcross. The smash happened this on Sunday afternoon at Childs Avenue, close to a children's park.

Commenting, Liberal Democrat campaigner Nick-Machnik Foster said:

"Wolverhampton roads have become increasingly dangerous with crashes seen on both Stafford Road and in Woodcross this weekend.

Wolverhampton Liberal Democrats are calling for a safer roads group to look at and tackle this epidemic. The crash was 50 metres from a well-used play park. As a dad, the thought of that sends a shiver down my spine.

The council needs to invest in supporting community speed watch schemes in places like Spring Vale and Woodcross. The council needs to listen to our call before it's too late and we see another tragedy on our roads."
