The 2022 the summer solstice occurs on Tuesday, June 21 at 9.14am.
On the summer solstice, the North Pole is tilted closer towards the sun than any other time in the yearly calendar.
This means that the Northern Hemisphere receives more sunlight during that day than any other day of the year.
